New Jersey’s Commitment to Renewable Energy
The Clean Energy Program of New Jersey promotes increased energy efficiency and the use of clean, renewable sources of energy including solar, wind, geothermal, and sustainable biomass. The results for New Jersey are a stronger economy, less pollution, lower costs, and reduced demand for electricity. The Clean Energy Program offers incentives, programs, and services for residential, commercial, and municipal customers. The state's electric and gas utilities also offer programs.
These incentives paved the pathway for homeowners in New Jersey to obtain allocated funds for home improvement projects associated with residential solar installation. Such as MPU upgrades, roof replacement, tree removal, battery storage, ev charging, and more.
The Clean Energy Program of New Jersey is mandated to drive the state toward 100% clean energy use by 2035, as outlined in Executive Order 315. This includes transitioning electricity generation to clean sources and maximizing the electrification of transportation and building sectors to reduce carbon emissions. The program also aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase the use of renewable energy.
